Fos Project is an ecodesign initiative that, after researching with waste materials and processing techniques, has discovered a production system that allows for a wide range of shape and structural possibilities. They recover low density polythene (mainly used for industrial packaging) and apply heat which enables them to create shapes that give the polythene a new lease of life. Thus rather than being a product, Fos Project is the consequence of a way of understanding the world, one in which design stems from recycling. During its six months of existence, they have had exhibitions at the “Black Room” hall at Palo Alto Market, at “La Volta” in Sant Narcis in Gerona and at the audiovisual studio “Utopia 126” for the “Poblenou Urban District” event. They are currently preparing two further exhibitions for the “Santa Tecla 11” space and the “Sant Salvador” gallery in the Barcelona’s Born district.
